I don't really like going to the Doctor. I avoid it when I can. Sometimes I get to the point with an upper respiratory infection that is about to turn into Bronchitis where I HAVE to go and get a Z-pack (azithromiacin) which always works, and in 5 days too! My family doctor that I went to since I was 10 (i think) had grown complacent, and frankly, I think, needs to retire, so I started seeing another doctor, or rather his Physicians Assistant. My husband's Doctor is the office in which she practices, and he really likes his Doctor, which is a good thing because he likes to go even less than I do. In fact, there was a time for a few years that any time he went to the Doctor, he would get put in the hospital...so...you see what I'm saying? In any case, the PA in his office is very nice, and I enjoy talking to her. I went in for a physical, and my back was killing me that day. She ordered blood tests for my fatigue to see if anything was wrong, and xrays for my back. She also gave me samples of Celebrex, which is normally provided for sufferers of arthritis. I have some arthritis...apparently, and it helped almost immediately. Normally I would go see a chiropractor, but that's so expensive, I just can't keep up with that. Everytime I go I end up feeling better, but it's a little better over a period of a week, and that week normally ends up costing about $200, so, um, I think taking Celebrex is my preferred option, especially when I get free samples! Apparently there is no generic form of it, so it's probably for the best that I'm getting samples instead of paying 60 for the prescription each month, most likely it would be less b/c of my insurance, but even still, it's cheaper.
In any case, when I went back to get the results, (which I found out I can get online now...neat...) I found out that my back is ok, the spacing is normal, but my spine is straight instead of having the s-curve it should have. She told me to be more aware of my posture and to try to tuck my tail in, when possible instead of trying to sit stiff as a board. She also has this issue, and was sharing a little with me how she had dealt with it herself. She was very impressed with my cholesterol levels bad and good, and my triglycerides were amazingly low. I was very happy to hear this, even if it did make me look like a freak. She was surprised to hear I wasn't on any type of suppliment. I had a good visit. Despite my weight being WAY more than I'd like it to be, it has stayed steady now since January...so I guess I should be greatful for that. I'm not greatful that I've gone up a size in jeans, but at least I'm not ballooning as the result of some sort of disease or weird eating problem. I can lose weight because I've done it before, but I feel so undisciplined, and I don't really like to excercise much, to be honest. So, I guess it's back to drinking lots and lots of water for me!
Thank goodness for Muscle Relaxers and NAISD's...I also got Flexeril to help with my TMJ headaches, which aren't frequent, but tension and stress brings them on and hits me with a force of a thunderstorm sometimes. They aren't migraines, but sometimes I do feel nauseous, and need to be in a dark room without noise. They might as well be migraines, but thankfully Flexeril does the trick, if Excedrin doesn't.

When I had rat-bite fever it was a p.a. who finally diagnosed me. It only took a couple of weeks. The doctor did come in once and sit there and discuss me with the p.a. in a very "Dr. House" manner (which I liked). I was an interesting case.
